[edit] UCAR Point of Presence

I tagged UCAR Point of Presence for speedy deletion. It appears to have been copied and pasted from a website (see the description at the article). Please don't copy and paste from websites, as this is a copyright violation. For legal reasons, Wikipedia does not allow copyrighted material to be posted. [edit] Re: Deleted Page

First, you'll want to take a look at WP:N, to make sure that these entities are notable enough to be here. I don't remember UCAR POP completely, but I believe it did satisfy this requirement. I tagged this for deletion because it turned out to be a copy+paste of another website. There are two things you can do here:

  1. If you do own the page you are copying and pasting, put a clear message at the bottom of it that you release it into the public domain, via the GNU Free Documentation License (also known as the GFDL)
  2. If you don't own the page, or want to retain its copyrighted status, you can try to write a page here from the ground up, that isn't a copy+paste of the original. If you do this, be sure to cite the original as the source of your information.

Hope this helps. I seem to recall it was a decent topic for a page, but there's always a concern with copyrights, so that's why I tagged it to delete. Good luck with the next version. JeremyMcCracken (talk) (contribs) 05:09, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
