[edit] Change of Title

The name "Common Kingfisher" is far more widely known than "European Kingfisher". Google searches yield

  • "Common Kingfisher": 138K pages
  • "European Kingfisher": 552 pages

Also, IUCN as well as other web resources such as birdguides or Internet Bird Videos show Alcedo atthis as "Common Kingfisher" and do not mention the name "European Kingfisher".

Unless there are other reasons, I would feel that the page should be moved to Common Kingfisher which seems overwhelmingly the most prevalent usage. mukerjee (talk) 10:24, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
