Europa Orbiter

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Europa Orbiter was a cancelled NASA mission to Jupiter's Moon Europa. It is designed to measure the thickness of the ice on Europa and to detect an ocean on the moon. It will also study the surface and interior processes to see the energy sources and response of the crust of Europa. Its launch had been scheduled for 2002 or 2003.

The Europa Orbiter is not be confused with the Jovian Europa Orbiter, a mission proposed by the European Space Agency[1]
