[edit] Akira (name)

Do you know what Akira means in Nigerian? We can add it to Akira (name). - Kaptanteo 19:46, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

I'm not sure myself and neither is my friend who is Nigerian and is called Akira. I'll ask him to ask his parents, hopefully they'll know. -Etienne 22:15, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] White Zimbabweans

Yes, that's an odd title for a message! But I noticed that you were from Zimbabwe, and I was wondering if you might be able to provide a free (CC or GFDL) image for use in the article Whites in Zimbabwe. We just need a generic shot of several white Zimbabweans; it'd be nice if the shot were well-composed, but it hardly has to be an award-winning photo. If you can help, it would be greatly appreciated -- thanks! --Zantastik talk 17:25, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

Yeah sure. I'm not sure if I have pictures of a group of only white zimbabweans (might be other non-white zimbos in the pic), but would these do? In my previous house, Billy Rautenbach was my neighbor and I think I have a photo of him in his car, I could add this as well if I find it. -Etienne 00:27, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
Thanks so much! As for your question, for this particular article, shot with only white zimbabweans would really be ideal. It feels so weird asking for a "whites only" photo -- I sound like I'm a big time racist! But any shots of zimbabweans generally might be nice for other articles about this country. And on Rautenbach, that'd be great, thanks:) --Zantastik talk 08:10, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Blue Pill

I found your sandbox on Blue Pill and Joanna Rutkowska. If you deem it appropriate, perhaps you could remove the speedy deletion tag from Blue pill (malware). As creator of the article, I cannot. Also if you can add anything to it, that of course is always welcome. :) --Pulpspy 22:41, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Never mind, the issue resolved itself in time. --Pulpspy 23:01, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Steven J Toope.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Steven J Toope.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Chowbok 18:39, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

Hey, I've replaced the Image:Steven J Toope.jpg with Image:Stephen J. Toope.jpg which is licensed under the Creative Commons. I've also updated the appropriate pages. Please delete the former image. Thanks -Etienne 22:47, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Rhodie

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Rhodie, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. [edit] SpikeSource

A tag has been placed on SpikeSource, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Jac roeBlank 21:02, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Gnuzilla logo.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Gnuzilla logo.png. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 01:16, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
