A map of Ethiopia in 1908, created by Ken Mayer by superimposing layers over a map from the 1908 edition of Rand McNally & Co.'s Indexed Atlas of the World (Chicago, New York). Shows location of battle of Adowa, the first Italian settlement at Assab, Menelik's new capital at Addis Ababa. The border with Galla territory is based on an 1885 map and an 1890 map but is arbitrary. Abyssinia, French Somaliland, Eritrea. http://rare-maps.com/MAPS_PIC/RAND-1908-ABYSSINIA.JPG
