Ethiopian American
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ethiopian Americans are Americans of Ethiopian descent. Ethiopian Americans make up the second largest African immigrant group in the United States, after Nigerian Americans.
There are many ethnic groups among Ethiopians in general, and thus the same is true among Ethiopian Americans.
While the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area has the highest concentration of Ethiopians in the U.S., Minnesota is considered to have one of the largest communities in the United States. It is impossible to point to survey or published data[citation needed] but it is generally accepted that there are anywhere between 100,000 to 150,000 Ethiopians in the area. Similar to other immigrant communities, a great majority of Ethiopian Minnesotans reside in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Columbus, Ohio has the third largest Ethiopian community in the US with close to 40,000.[1]
Oromo Americans are Americans of Oromo descent. They are a subgroup of Ethiopian Americans.
