Etcherla is a village and a Mandal in Srikakulam district in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India.[1]

Postgraduate Center of Andhra University and an engineering college are located near Etcherla.

Dr.B.R.Ambedkar Post Graduate Centre [2] was started in 1977-1978 with a policy of extending higher education facilities in the backward regions. The center was shifted from Srikakulam to the presented campus on 29 September 1986 in the old palace at Etcherla. In the beginning two disciplines viz., Economics and Rural development are instituted at Postgraduate level. Presently there are about 14 different courses offered here. The center is at present catering to the needs of 600 P.G. Students and Research Scholars working for their M.Phil and Ph.D. and is supported by 40 faculty members and 70 non Teaching members. This Postgraduate Center became the largest PG Center in the entire state of Andhra Pradesh.

The PG centre is located in a spacious campus extending 29 acres of land. It is at present blessed with an administrative block accommodating special officers chamber, individual teachers rooms and students union room, three blocks to accommodate class rooms, Library , reading room and a hostel for boys.
