[edit] Style

Regarding the page Dead Zones, some of the edits you are making are relatively harmless but fall in contravention of WP:Style. Have a look at that page. Also, it is not appropriate for an article to link to other pages more than once unless it refers to the other page on a different subject, which is clearly not the case. [edit] Unspecified source for Image:Hermosa beach in winter.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Hermosa beach in winter.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then you need to specify who owns the copyright, please. If you got it from a website, then a link to the website where it was taken from with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:29, 15 January 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NMajdantalk 04:29, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Hermosa beach chip trail.jpg

Thank you for uploading Image:Hermosa beach chip trail.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NMajdantalk 04:32, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:6th_street_and_hermosa_beach_strand.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:6th_street_and_hermosa_beach_strand.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Thanks for uploading Image:Hermosa_beach_plaza.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. [edit] Spam on cell Company Pages

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. [edit] Your edit to Regis High School (Cedar Rapids)

[edit] Message posted on Tuesday, April 10, 2007

Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Regis High School (Cedar Rapids). For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites (http://www.crareacatholic.com/high%20school.html in this case) or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details on the article Talk page and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Regis High School (Cedar Rapids) with a link to where we can find that note;
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on the article Talk page. Alternatively, you may create a note on your web page releasing the work under the GFDL and then leave a note at Talk:Regis High School (Cedar Rapids) with a link to the details.

It is also important that the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and that it follows Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at Talk:Regis High School (Cedar Rapids)/Temp. Leave a note at Talk:Regis High School (Cedar Rapids) saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Your original contributions are welcome.
