I was wondering if anyone knows who Estling Lake was named after? My maiden name is Estling and I am trying to do some geneology work on it. N.Thorne

There seems to be no clear answer to your question. According to the book, Estling Lake Then and Now, it may have been named after the chief engineer of the project to build the 80 acre lake. There is also the possiblity that the lake takes it's name from the term "east line" (which had to do with the railroad routes at the time) and this became Estline and eventually Estling. Estline is the way the name appears on some of the old maps of the lake. APG85 23:37, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

One of the original founders of Estling lake was named Thorne. It would be interesting to see if there is any common thread. I am interested. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.192.196.250 (talk) 04:46, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
