ESP EXP Series

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The ESP EX series is the most common guitar series of ESP used by musicians such as James Hetfield of Metallica, and Dan Jacobs of Atreyu. The EX series is a copy of the famous Gibson Explorer Unlike the Gibson model, the ESP EX's edges are sharp instead of rounded. ESP's early models of the EX series had a curved/rounded edge until changing them into a shaper edge. The EX series contains three EX guitars- the EX-50, EX-260, and the EX-400. Both EX-50 and EX-260 contain very common specifications. The EX-400, being the high end of the series contains EMG 81 and EMG 60 active pickups; unlike the two others that use EMG ESPs. It also uses Grover tuners instead of the ESP LTD tuners on the others. None of the ESP EX series guitars contain pickguards.
