Esmond Pitt is an IT consultant, entrepreneur, author, and musician based in Melbourne, Australia.

He was the principal architect and author with his brother David Pitt of the Austec Cobol compiler and runtime system which was the first 32-bit COBOL available on Unix 1981-9, and the chief designer and current owner of the Faculti/32 programming platform which supported the Bank of Queensland's telling system from 1994-2001.
