ESET is an IT security company. It was founded in 1992 as a result of the merger of two private companies. It is now a privately held company with offices in San Diego, US, London, UK, Buenos Aires, AR, Prague, CZ, and Bratislava, SK.
ESET's first product was NOD32, an anti-virus program. ESET's scanning engine--ThreatSense--has become one of the proactive Anti-Virus scanner leaders.[citation needed] ESET NOD32 is the only antivirus software that has not missed a single threat in Virus Bulletin's tests in the recent nine years.[citation needed]
In November 2007 ESET released new versions of their anti-virus program and presented a new product, ESET Smart Security Suite. It combines the features from the next generation of ESET NOD32 v3.0 (anti-virus and anti-spyware protection) with a personal firewall and anti-spam tool.
