Erskine Bronson Ingram

E. Bronson Ingram (27 November 1931 - 15 June 1995) was a United States businessman and billionaire, and the long-time head of Ingram Industries.

Ingram was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, the son of millionaire businessman Orrin Henry Ingram. The family settled in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1948, which became the headquarters for their Ingram Barge Company, which Bronson Ingram inherited from his father. He was also involved in Ingram Book Group, Ingram Software, various petroleum interests, and other businesses. He served as chairman of the Board of Trust at Vanderbilt University from 1991 until his death from cancer in 1995. Golfer Arnold Palmer was a pallbearer at his funeral.

His widow is Martha Rivers Ingram. His sons are David Bronson Ingram, Orrin H. Ingram III, and John Rivers Ingram.

A book about his life, E. Bronson Ingram: Complete These Unfinished Tasks of Mine[1], written by Martha Rivers Ingram, was published in 2001.
