Errol Brathwaite

Errol Brathwaite (1924-2005) was born and grew up in Waipukurau, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. He experienced the 1931 Napier earthquake first-hand.

He was stationed at New Britain in World War II. He married Alison Whyte shortly after the war. They gave birth to Michael in 1949 and Pamela in 1951. In 1990, his grandson Anthony was born.

He developed Alzheimer's disease in 1995, which worsened rapidly in 2003. He died of gangrene on December 4th 2005.
