Can something be done to harmonize the acronyms used in this piece? The author uses the English GDR (German Democratic Republic in lue of DDR, Deutsche Demokratische Republik) in the same sentence as the German FDJ (Freie Deutsche Jugend). I think that the article should choose either to use the English or the German versions to avoid confusion or, optimally, to include both.
