From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ernest Goüin (or Gouin) (1815-1885) was a French civil engineer and entrepreneur. He was responsible for building a number of metal bridges in France and abroad, and later for railroad building projects. The company he founded in 1846, Ernest Goüin & Cie. changed its name in 1871 to Compagnie de Construction des Batignolles; it still exists today under the name Spie Batignolles and claims to be the fourth largest construction company in France.
