[edit] Stub status

Look, the article has lots of room to expand. Who are all the members? What does the organization actually do? How are the association's activities viewed by others? How does it impact Canada? What is the organization's history? Why was it formed?

Flagging the article as a stub is important because it alerts other editors that the article could use an expansion (and, given the article's status as an orphan, it can use all the expansion it can get). It doesn't mean the article is bad or anything, so don't take it personally. EVula 19:04, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

Please see Wikipedia:Stub. Key language that you might find helpful is "[a stub] does not have any general or basic coverage about the article". This article has all the key information about this organization. Also, an article is not a stub if it "can be improved by only a rather knowledgeable editor, or after significant research". Much of the information you describe could only be found with extensive research, beyond a basic web search (see: "a stub is an article which is so incomplete that an editor who knows (very) little about the topic could improve its content after a superficial Web search or a few minutes in a reference library"). Also, it is unclear that a list of a trade association's members would be encyclopedic, so I don't agree with your suggestion that such a list be added. Thus, this article is not a stub. Remember "[t]he length of the article is not an absolute rule to classify between a stub and a non-stub". Justinpwilsonadvocate 21:07, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
I still disagree, and think this article should be expanded, but I've got better things to do than argue with you over this. EVula 21:43, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
I agree with you that this article should be expanded. In fact, I think most articles on wikipedia "should be expanded". However, the policy I have cited makes clear that the stub designation is not for any article that "should be expanded" Justinpwilsonadvocate 02:44, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
