Anyone else hear that his mother is half Black?

-- No; nor does he look like it. OTOH, her name is Farber - a common Jewish last name. So he might actually be Jewish (not just by blood but by Jewish law).

Just wondering--I've heard mixed info about erik von Detten being married to a girl named Cassie Matthews from New Orleans--is it true? 4.252.10.48 16:57, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Farber is a common German surname. Some Jews also adopted that surname, but it still is a German surname. And given the fact, that his father is ethnic German, his mother surely is also of German descent, and not Jewish. Would a Jewish-American woman marry an ethnic German immigrant? I guess not... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.94.186.41 (talk) 10:57, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
I don't see why a Jewish woman wouldn't marry a German immigrant. How about the parents of actress Lauren Storm? All Hallow's Wraith (talk) 13:02, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
