| Authenticity check: A search reveals that the phrase "regarded by many" appears in the text. Is the phrase a symptom of a dubious statement? Could a source be quoted instead? Perhaps the "many" could be identified? Might text be edited to more genuinely reflect specific facts? Wetman |
What a wonderful phrase to search for! In this case, I think it is appropriate. I can't find any appropriate prize he could have won, but it is important to note that he is highly regarded. --Canthusus 07:44, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
- "He was awarded a CBE in 1994 and was given a lifetime achievement award by the British Guild of Writers in 2001." [1] He sold quite a few books and his newspaper columns were read by many when they were published. I wish there were more like him Stephenjh
Does anyone know why my image wont post within the article? It seems to have uploaded ok. [2] Stephenjh
It would be good to have an image. I have also fleshed the original article on Eric Newby with some of the most important details about his life and works. Ivankinsman 10:22, 29 April 2007 (UTC)
