Eric McFarland

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Eric McFarland is a producer for BBC Sportsround, a sports programme for children. His body of work has been praised by a couple of media commentators.

Eric first sprung to fame at Southern Counties Radio - it was said his particular brand of investigative reporting put Camberley on the map and reduced crime levels - although this has been challenged by some commentators.

After 5 years reporting on Camberley and Guildford - Eric moved to London to cement his reputation as a talented and creative producer on national television. This caused a serious drop in BBC Southern Counties listening figures.

Mr McFarland has been earmarked as a future editor of Newsround and the Lorraine Kelly show. He is currently working on a Sportsround special programme devoted to improving lacrosse attendance in Britain's major public schools.

He’s also currently working on an unauthorized biography of Al-Jazeera English and former BBC newscaster Darren Jordon. According to Amazon it is due to be released in November 2008.
