Philander Chase was the first Bishop of Ohio, retiring in 1832. He later served as Presiding Bishop of the national church.
The Episcopal Diocese of Ohio is the diocese of the Episcopal Church in the United States of America in the northern half of the state of Ohio.
The see city is Cleveland, home of Trinity Cathedral, the cathedral of the diocese. Mark Hollingsworth, Jr. was consecrated as the 11th Bishop of Ohio on April 17, 2004[1].
The first bishop was Philander Chase, appointed in 1819.
