EPIC Miami Residences and Hotel

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

EPIC Miami Residences and Hotel is a condo-hotel being constructed in Miami, Florida by Lionstone Hotels and Resorts. Lionstone bought the former DuPont Plaza Hotel in August 2001.[1] Originally, Lionstone was going to completely renovate the hotel for $80 million, but changed its mind and decided to demolish the existing structure and start anew. Demolitions for the DuPont Plaza Hotel was started in April 2004 and completed in January 2005.[2]

Lionstone chose to partner with Ugo Colombo to develop the former site of the Royal Palm Hotel and DuPont Plaza Hotel into its latest incarnation, EPIC Miami Residences and Hotel, a $370 million mix-use development.[3] The first 342-unit tower is scheduled for completion in Summer 2008; a second nearly 600-unit tower is planned to be constructed afterwards. The 414-room hotel will be managed by Kimpton Hotels.
