[edit] Merger Proposal
Environmental terrorism is precisely the same thing as Ecoterrorism. Eco is colloquially used to mean environmental. And seeing as this page is hardly a page at all (no sources, huge POV issues), the simplest task seems to be a merger. Veganbikepunk (talk) 19:48, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
The purpose of environmental terrorism is to destroy environmental resources to harm people/governments. Eco-terrorism is conducted in the interest of environmental causes--to harm people/governments/property in an effort to save the environment. Why merge two different and confusing topics? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.181.121.135 (talk) 01:30, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
I think the difference between these two topics has to do with who is behind these activities, if you are a government or a corporation and you destroy an ecosystem its environmental terrorism but if you're a group of people and destroy something harmful to an ecosystem you're an eco-terrorist. If these were combined it should definitely make this clear as the enviromental terrorists do many times more damage than any group of eco-terrorists are capable of. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.228.78.250 (talk) 03:46, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
Two separate ideas. As the political ramifications of globalization and global warming march onward, environmental terrorism will gain new significance as the industrialized countries adversely impact third world countries. It would be a mistake to combine these two ideas and obfuscate the development of this wider understanding of environmental terrorism. --Zvengaar (talk) 16:31, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
Everybody thus far has been very muddy and unclear about their stands. I'll be clear: the Eco-terrorism article talks about terrorism for sake of the environment, while environmental terrorism talks about terrorism on the environment itself. Ariedartin JECJY Talk 19:40, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
