Enterprise Asia is a non-governmental organization founded in 2007 by a group of entrepreneurs headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with presence in Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam and Thailand currently. The organization strives to pursue entrepreneurship development across Asia and to promote fair and equal opportunities for emerging entrepreneurs.
The organization is being supported by a panel of prominent industry and government leaders who share the same sentiment as Enterprise Asia.

[edit] Vision & Mission
The vision of the organization is to create an Asian region that is rich in entrepreneurship as the engine towards sustainable and progressive economic and social development within a world of economic equality.
Enterprise Asia has 2 missions ie: championing entrepreneurship development and cultivating a culture of honesty, fairness and corporate social responsibility. In championing entrepreneurship development, Enterprise Asia works with governments, NGOs and other related organizations to promote competitiveness of entrepreneurs. The organization also strive to cultivate a culture of honest, fair and responsible entrepreneurship which could eradicate various social and economic issues such as urban poverty, income disparity, labor exploitations, etc.

Enterprise Asia's board of advisors are made up of prominent individuals. Amongst notable advisors include:
- Tan Sri Ahmad Fuzi Hj. Abdul Razak - Ambassador at Large, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia[1]
- Tan Sri Dr Hadenan A. Jalil - Former Auditor General of Malaysia[2]
- Hermawan Kartajaya - Marketing guru and President of World Marketing Association[3]
- Tan Sri Dato' Sri Izzudin Dali - Former Secretary General of Treasury, Ministry of Finance, Malaysia[4]

Enterprise Asia is engaged in five core activities:
- Consultancy services to a wide range of clients including governmental bodies, trade associations, multinationals, small and medium enterprises and private individuals on the following areas:
- Strategic and financing solutions
- Enterprise-wide corporate social responsibility
- Investment in people and human resources
- Development and support structure for native and indigenous products
- Sustainable rural enterprises
- Media and information framework for entrepreneurs support programs
- Youth, women and minority enterprise development
- Urban poverty eradication
- Entrepreneurship education and development
- Government policies and legislative framework on entrepreneurship
- Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards (APEA)
- APEA is a regional award for outstanding entrepreneurship. It is built on the idea that for entrepreneurs to continue innovating and sustaining their leadership, there must be 3 elements in place; benchmarking against best practices, recognition of past and current efforts and continued public and publicity attention. APEA provides the platform for companies and governments to recognize and be recognized for entrepreneurial excellence, hence spurring greater innovation, fair practices and growth in entrepreneurship. As a regional award, APEA will group together leading entrepreneurs across the region as a powerful voice and networking opportunities. Award winners from respective countries will be invited to participate in the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Forum.
- Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Forum (APEF)
- APEF is an open platform for thought leaders to promote fair play and opportunities for entrepreneurs in the region. Government, business and society leaders will have the opportunities to be engaged in an open forum to discuss and formulate regional industrial agenda as well as fair ground rules.
- Youth Entrepreneurship Summit (YES)
- YES provides a series of entrepreneurship programs that encourages and promotes entrepreneurship amongst young graduates. YES also offers potential seed capitals to a selective number of prospective young entrepreneurs.
- Industry Dialogue
- A dialogue between business communities, trade organizations and governmental bodies to enhance mutual understanding as a means for shaping future policies and raising industry competitiveness.
[edit] Achievements
In 2007, the inaugural APEA was successfully conducted at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and was graced by Malaysia's Foreign Affair Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar. The awards attracted 695 nominations of which 39 winners were selected. Judging was based on two main criteria, ie: responsible entrepreneurship and investment in people. Among notable winners of the night were Tan Sri Teh Hong Piow, Chairman of Public Bank Berhad and Datuk Bridget Lai, Group CEO of Alliance Bank Berhad. Corporate winners included TV3 (Malaysia) and Hitachi Asia (Malaysia).
Enterprise Asia also entered into strategic partnerships with 2 youth bodies in 2007 namely AIESEC and Young Professionals Association of Malaysia. Under these partnerships, member of the respective bodies will be able to participate in various Enterprise Asia's Youth Entrepreneurship Program as well as co-organize entrepreneurship related fairs and expos.
Other achievements in 2007 included the creation of an online business forum and portal with on of its partner. The forum currently attracts a large number of membership across the region.

Among the future plans of Enterprise Asia in 2008 and 2009 include:
- APEA will be held in 13 countries ie: Brunei, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, India, Taiwan, South Korea, Australia, Japan and China
- Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Forum will be held in Hangzhou, China and involves over 1,000 top entrepreneurs from across Asia
- Trade and investment mission to Brunei, Jakarta and Malaysia
- Rural Entrepreneurship Program
- Graduate Entrepreneurship Program
