Shot in 1976. A gathering celebrating the kick-off of the "mall butification program" a program spearheaded by the Urban Progress Center Englewood Concourse Commission, Englewood Business Men's Association, Dept. of Streets and Sanitation and Dept. of Forestry. The goal was to beautify the mall and provide a minimum of 30 new jobs. Pictured, left to right in front are: Richard Drew, Executive Director, EBMA; Altamese Merchant, Community Administrator, Urban Progress Center; Robert O'Keefe, Executive of People's Gas Company; Yvonne Jordan, Summer Program Coordinator; John Lewis, Community Resource Specialist and program coordinator; John Simpson, Englewood Mall Operations Manager.
