The English Speaking Ministry (ESM) is a branch or ministry developed within the overall body of the church to tend to the needs of college students or English speaking congregants of a particular nationality. Churches whose original language was not English (e.g. Korean or Chinese) would mainly tend to the needs of same-language speaking congregants. However, as their children grew up in an environment whose main language was English, the churches adapted ESM or EM (English Ministry) arms to tend to the needs of this new generation.
