[edit] International School Bangkok

Enchinda9, I appreciate the issue you're placing in this article, in the Controversy section you've added. Couple thoughts: Couldn't this same statement be made of nearly every school (international, or local) in most countries of the world. "Recently problems with drugs have occured..."? Also, I know the exact 7-11 you're refering to, and I'm struggling to understand how problems at ISB translate into changing the hours of operation of the 7-11 outside Nichada Thani's gates (not to mention ISB doesn't 'control' Nichada Thani, either, much less the businesses outside). At a minimum, if a local store (that 7-11) made operational changes to respond to the problems at a nearby school, you'd need to provide a citation for that connection. And, if the problems are pronounced enough to be of note, again, you'll need to cite that. Finally, your ascertion that Rashima Kwatra tested positive for cocaine a) needs a citation (since it is an accusation), and b) needs a connection to Rashima's time at ISB. Is it verifiable that this allegedy cocaine use was taking place while Rashima was at ISB? Was the testing while Rashima was there? - Thaimoss (talk) 03:41, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Enchinda9, you make bold accusations, while hiding behind the anonymity of a username. Keep in mind that by naming someone, you are slandering them without "proof" or the citations you claim you don't have. It is not only irresponsible use of technology and wikipedia specifically to slander someone in this way, but then to attempt to disguise this slander "as a evidence of what the current administration is doing", as if you are providing helpful information to readers is outright inexcusable. If you have a personal issue with someone, Wikipedia is not the place for it. Sadly, you damage your own reputation when you write slander like this...lucky for you, you are hiding behind an anonymous username. Too bad you don't offer the people you so easily slander the same anonymity. dharter (talk) 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply. As a budding journalist you should also then be aware that responsible journalism involves not slandering someone for the point of something else. If you are trying to be a "journalist" wikipedia is not the venue. It is not a journal or newspaper, but rather an encyclopedia. One that should be used for REFERENCE. If you are trying to tackle the drug problem, there are more proactive ways to do this (and address the actual drug usage) than to write text that does nothing to address the issue, but rather simply attempts to discredit ISB and hurt the otherwise good name of a student. I don't know about the "truth" of what you say, but to me, even if you wanted to say that ISB was failing in some regard...throwing a student's name is unnecessary and hurtful and "feels" personal, though you say it isn't. Again, thanks for your thoughtful reply and your honest consideration of what I was saying. Again, I remind you that it is an easy thing to make accusations of others while you can remain anonymous behind a username. Obviously you are connected to the school and you worry about consequences, but instead I encourage you to use your connection to the school and your concern for increasing issues with students using drugs that you know about and do something about that. School consequences for drug use are not the answer to the problem...maybe we can do more to stop the drug use/abuse in the first place. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dharter (talkcontribs) 01:47, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
