Encholirium (Greek enchos = spear and leiron = lily) is a genus of the botanical family Bromeliaceae, subfamily Pitcairnioideae. This genus is native to Brazil where many occur exclusively in arid, rocky conditions. Some species of Encholirium are limited in number and have been the focus of conservation efforts[1]. These plants, which have been observed being pollinated by bats[2], are commonly confused with Dyckia.
