[edit] Did Saga indeed abolish the death penalty?
The article on Religion and capital punishment states that Saga abolished the imperial death penalty in Japan (although the internal use by manors remained, and it was reinstated in 1165). Some more information on this would be good. -- 77.7.133.195 14:19, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Before his ascension to the Chrysanthemum Throne, his personal name (his imina)[2] was Kamino-shinnÅ.[3]
Yes, but then the article about posthumous names said that he was given the name Saga, AFTER death. This means while he was Emperor, he had to have a name, unless he was just called Emperor. Please clarify.--Hitsuji Kinno (talk) 15:26, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
