Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policy for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Thank you. [1] (Requestion 21:36, 16 April 2007 (UTC))

Global Velocity is a vendor providing the same solution as all other vendors listing. Do not remove the link, unless you remove all ILD&P vendor links. - unsigned comment by (User:Emorrissey 15:22, 20 April 2007)
Sorry but it doesn't work like that. Please see WP:SPAM which says "Many times users can be confused by the removal of spam links because other links that could be construed as spam have been added to the article and not yet removed. The inclusion of a spam link should not be construed as an endorsement of the spam link, nor should it be taken as a reason or excuse to include another." (Requestion 16:28, 20 April 2007 (UTC))

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. globalvelocity.com (Requestion 16:28, 20 April 2007 (UTC))

please explain to me why you don't remove GTB Technologies. It does work this way. - unsigned comment by (User:Emorrissey 23:59, 20 April 2007)
I don't have an opinion about GTB Technologies. If you think it is spam then you are free to delete it yourself. (Requestion 03:09, 21 April 2007 (UTC))

This is your last warning. The next time you insert a spam link, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted as well, preventing anyone from linking to them from any site that uses the MediaWiki spam blacklist, which includes all of Wikimedia and Wikipedia. globalvelocity.com (Requestion 03:09, 21 April 2007 (UTC))

I think a user would expect to find a list of ILP vendors under the 'Vendor' heading. Users want a comprehensive list - not one you, or any individual, selectively decides. I understand and completely agree with anti-spamming philosophy. Users adding relevant content is what Wikipedia is supposed to be. - unsigned comment by (User:70.43.198.226 22:11, 23 April 2007)
The final warning was violated here [2] by User talk:70.43.198.226. Sorry but links are not content and can't you see that big SPAM WARNING banner? That doesn't mean add spam here. Wikipedia is WP:NOT a link farm. Did you read any of those courtesy messages a I left for you up above? They explain everything. (Requestion 01:25, 24 April 2007 (UTC))

I read all postings, yet still find no logic in removing only selected text. It seems, if you believe in what you are saying, you would remove all links - not just the one I entered.

How is it, then, that you have a link to a page advertising your personal company? - unsigned comment by (User:Emorrissey 22:12, 25 April 2007)

Please see Wikipedia:Spam#Inclusion_of_one_spam_link_is_not_a_reason_to_include_another. You mean the Penton Media link on my User:Requestion page? It is an internal link and those are OK. (Requestion 02:05, 26 April 2007 (UTC))

Could you point me in the direction of rules of creating internal page? - unsigned comment by (User:Emorrissey 15:47, 30 April 2007)

I don't know of any internal page creation guide but Help:Contents would be a good starting point. Three things I would pay a lot of attention to are WP:NPOV, WP:COI, and WP:NOTABILITY. Conflict of interest says that you are allowed to create a page about your company or product but it advises against it. That it good advice because having a true neutral point of view is extremely difficult for most people when they write about themselves. Most important is Notability, your page will be quickly deleted if it lacks this. You must understand that you will not WP:OWN this page and people will write unflattering things there and you won't be able to stop them. Why do you even want a Wikipedia page?
