[edit] Personal life

She originally planned to be a dancer, and studied ballet until she was a teenager. However, an ankle injury prevented her going any further; and instead she decided to take up acting, joining Sixth Sense Theatre Trust in the late nineties. She appeared in several shows with them, including Animal Farm and The Hobbit.

[edit] Career

In 2001 she was accepted into the National Youth Theatre. She continued her studies at school until 2004, when she was accepted into the prestigous acting course at Edinburgh's Queen Margaret University, a drama school that had produced such actors as Kevin McKidd and Ashley Jensen. Sadly in 2008, it was announced in The Stagethat the conservatoire at QMU would no longer be continuing.

At drama school, her roles included Rosaline in Love's Labour's Lost, Anne Marie in La Musica at Tron Theatre and Emily Tallentire in The Hired Man for which she received excellent reviews: The stand-out individual performer is Emily Lawrence, as Emily Tallentire... She has a lovely, clear singing voice and succeeds in making her character age visibly over the course of the play...Outstanding.

Upon graduating in 2007, she signed with KSA Scotland. She has worked consistently since then, playing Katherine in Labours Won at The Gilded Balloon, Viola in Twelfth Night at The Alma Tavern and appearing in several films and commercials.
