"Antón y Michelena" did not compose "A la luz de la luna." Antón and Michelena were two popular singers who performed this piece, probably in 1897, at the Teatro Tacón in Havana, where Caruso appeared some 20 years later. The Biblioteca Nacional de España records this observation: "Cantada con gran aplauso en el gran Teatro Tacón, por los distinguidos artistas, Antón y Michelena." The Registro de la Propiedad Intelectual records the author as Anonymous (Anonimo). This "canción española con acompañamiento de piano" was published and registered by Anselmo López, a purveyor of pianos in Havana. Belastro 03:18, 28 March 2007 (UTC)Belastro
