[edit] Synopsis

A series of unsuccessful missile attacks against Marineville leads to a mass search of a certain area of the ocean. Stingray and its crew discover the missile came from a mysterious island and are soon taken prisoner.

[edit] Plot

A missile is launched from an island at Marineville. Commander Shore orders Marineville to be lowered, and the process is finished just before Marineville interceptors destroy the missile.

Marineville tracking stations can not be very accurate on the location of the missile so a mass search is ordered to search three areas of the ocean. Stingray, whilst searching one zone, witnesses the launch of a missile from a small island. The crew then investigates the island.

Troy and Phones are paralyzed by a purple light and are taken prisoner by the inhabitants of the island. When they wake up they are told to give the best course of the next missile, as the enemy wish to completely destroy Marineville. Obviously Troy refuses to speak, but when Marina's life is threatened he gives in.

Subsequently locked in cell, the crew devise a plan to help Marineville. Using one of Phones' buttons and a piece of string, Troy gets the keys to cell from a nearby chair and, with the help of Phones, disarms the warhead on the missile.

When the missile is launched the next day, it gets through Marineville's defenses but it does not explode on impact. The missile disposal squad finds a note from Troy in the missile telling Marineville that he is being held prisoner.

An attack is launched on the island until the enemy give up. Stingray is set free and it finishes off the island with two sting missiles.

[edit] Continuity

  • At the end of the episode Commander Shore rebukes Phones for having a missing button. However, his costume never had one in the first place.
