Hello, what is the purpose for the non-standard romanization of the name? Fg2 07:41, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
- I did it that way due to the characters used to write her name. 遠山 is written とおやま instead of とうやま, so I wanted to make that clear. It's not the standard "long o". --nihon 18:52, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
- It's still o-macron. At least in the romanization that follows her Japanese name. This is different from, for example, Hiroo 広尾 in which one "o" is in one kanji, and the other in a different kanji. But this one is in a single kanji, like Ōsaka in the Japanese pronunciation after the kanji (but not in the English --- as you know, we write that without macron since it's fully accepted in English). - I gotta agree with Fg2 on this, the difference is ignored in Hepburn and this article should be no exception, it should be moved to Ema Toyama and you can leave a note of the exception beside the title. freshgavin TALK 21:52, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Name again
It looks like Tokyopop romanizes the name as Ema Toyama, which means I think the article needs to be moved again. —Quasirandom (talk) 22:40, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
