Elyes Gabel (born May 8, 1983) is a British actor who played Doctor Gupreet "Guppy" Sandhu in the BBC medical drama, Casualty.

Gabel was born in London but has lived in Canada and Manchester. Gabel trained at Strodes College, the Oldham Theatre Workshop and the Northern Kids Theatre Company.
He dropped out of drama school to play the part of the mummy Nuff, in the children's television show, I Love Mummy. He has also participated in theatre productions such as West Side Story; Oliver!; and Diary of Anne Frank.
He was nominated for a National Television Award (Best Newcomer) in 2005. [1]
He currently resides in Bristol where Casualty is filmed. He is a keen sportsman and enjoys tennis and football.
Having now finished filming for Casualty, Gabel is recording music which may be heard shortly on his new music myspace page and is working with his band on their first album.
He was recently interviewed for "Take it Easy Magazine" and revealed that he is working on new project, "Apparitions", with Martin Shaw in Liverpool.
