[edit] Great Irish Famine, block/unblock of Sarah777

Sarah777, under restrictions from the Great Irish Famine case in September 2007 for "aggressive biased editing and anti-British remarks", has been blocked multiple times over the last few months,[1] for POV pushing, incivility, and disruption (see also related January 2008 AE thread[2]). On May 26 she was blocked indefinitely by SirFozzie for "edit warring",[3] and consensus was agreed at WP:ANI on the appropriateness of an indefinite block,[4] (other related ANI threads[5][6]) which showed that the block probably would have been better labeled "exhausting community's patience". Now after some heated discussion at Sarah777's talkpage over the last week (multiple threads, starting around here[7]), administrator Alison has offered to mentor Sarah777, and wants to unblock (see User talk:Sarah777#This needs to end ...). There is some limited agreement for this on Sarah777's talkpage, but other reasonable disagreement (including from myself) about the wisdom of this, and whether or not this is just overturning the previous consensus at ANI. I would therefore like to open up this discussion to a wider audience of AE admins, to discuss whether or not there is genuine consensus for an unblock at this time. --Elonka 19:20, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
