[edit] Thanks

Just wanted to drop you a note saying thanks for adding cats to tons of article. It's grunt work, but necessary work to improve Wikipedia.--Supernumerary 20:31, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you for the support

On the issue of producing company vs. distributor we may have very little reaction and hope of consensus, as it involves going through all the thousands of film infoboxes and replacing the info. It can be done but, for the moment at least, film gnomes (including aquatic species) are still sweating to get more basic things straight. Let's see. Great work you have done, by the way. [edit] Notice

This is to inform you that Wikipedia:WikiProject Films/Categorization has started. Any contributions in further developing it are warmly welcome. Hoverfish Talk 15:42, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi here too. Suggestion: We have some members who use AWB, which makes going through 200 articles for a preset change much easier. So we can ask them to do. Let's clear out (in the cat department) a set of changes first and then Cbrown or Nehrams can run them semi-automatically. Hoverfish Talk 21:56, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
I'm not sure what you are doing with the template (I'm just a beginner in their "esoteric" aspects, but if you explain further I may get it). I have seen the 14 articles of Category:Films by decade. Some of them are neglected but some keep being updated by several users. We need consensus to do AfD on film articles. Removing their category leaves them simply uncategorized, so next someone will put them back. But since this involves film lists (and not categories), we should start a discussion in the main film project. There we may get an idea of whether it will be a smooth move or not. Hoverfish Talk 22:46, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
By the way, what do you think of the template {{filmsbyyear}} ? E.S.Blofeld started creating this series. He had to stop, but it may be used later (if the "Films released in year" split from the years in films articles). For the moment they have all redirects to the categories (as in Category:1999 films), so the template works. But I can also create another one to navigate in categories only. [edit] Short story infobox

Hi, thanks for you message I have been bold and changed the guidance for the infobox and put my reasons in a descussion point there. I can see what you were meaning but I do think that we ought to use "Media_type" the same way (roughly at least between the two infoboxes. Anyway let me know what you think, and I agree consistency is what we are after, closely followed by simplicity. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 08:58, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for doing that it seems like a good way to proceed. Thanks again :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 08:41, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Donovan'sBrainDVDCover.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Donovan'sBrainDVDCover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 07:26, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
