Elias David Sassoon

Elias David Sassoon (27 March 1820, Baghdad, Ottoman Iraq – 21 March 1880, Colombo, British Ceylon) was the son of David Sassoon and father of Jacob Elias Sassoon and Edward Elias Sassoon.
A businessman, he first followed father started his business in India. After the occupiation of Hong Kong, he moved to Hong Kong in 1844 as his base to start his business in China. In 1850 he moved to Shanghai.
