Elegies to Lessons Learnt is iLiKETRAiNS' first studio album, was released on 1 October 2007. As with their EP, Progress Reform, many of the songs cover historical events, which the band are especially interested in. A DVD version of the album is set to be released on 21st April 2008, this will coincide with a tour and the release of We Go Hunting as a single.
- "Twenty Five Sins" is about the Great Fire of London,
- "Voice Of Reason" refers to the attempted assassination of George III by James Hadfield,
- "We Go Hunting" is about the Salem Witch Trials of 1692,
- "The Deception" the suicide of Donald Crowhurst, during the Sunday Times Golden Globe Race,
- "Spencer Perceval", the assassination of him, from the murderer's point of view, John Bellingham,
- "Remnants of an Army" is about William Brydon,
- "Death of an Idealist" talks about the British MP John Stonehouse who faked his own death and lived in Australia, to escape his burdening debt, before being found by Interpol,
- "Come Over" is about an incident related to the Berlin Wall,
- "We All Fall Down" is about the plague epidemic of 1665 in Eyam, Derbyshire, where it killed 260 people, and leaving only 83 people alive, and was the only remaing population.
The B-sides tell their own stories too.
- "I Am Murdered" the assassination of Spencer Perceval from his own point of view,
- "Joshua" tells the story of Bernard Moitessier, however this is just an instrumental,
- "Victress" tells the story of Nigel Tetley, who committed suicide in 1972.
- "More Weight" tells story of Corey Giles,a farmer in early colonial America who was crushed to death by stone weights in an attempt to force him plea guilty to the charge of witchcraft.
Victress, which was released before this album, alludes to the title with the lyrics "I sing elegies to lessons I will never learn" which are sung during the second verse.
