Electro-goth, also known as Neo-goth, is more of a group of musical genres and cyber-gothic crossover styles than an actual genre or style. The scene was made famous by DJ RiB, more famous as Romell Regulacion from Razed in Black and Transmutator, When producing combilations this is neo-goth & most recently Dark trance vs. Neo-goth, a collection of good examples of genres that are encompassed in the scene, as well as the closely related dark trance scene.
[edit] Dark Trance
Dark Trance is a collective of genres that may be classed by some as not gothic, classed by others as underground trance music, which it basically is. The genres encompassed in this catch-all term are Goa trance & Psychedelic trance, particularly Dark psytrance, Hardstyle, Hard trance, Neo-trance, certain forms of Progressive trance, Hard NRG, and even goes as far as to have incorparated hard house, Progressive house, even certain parts of Techno. The oldest genres would probably be the original Trance music scene.

Neo-goth, as expressed earlier, isn't really a genre, but more of a pantheon of genres considered to be electrogothic music. The genres are: Electro-industrial, Futurepop, aggrotech/TBM, Synthpop, Electroclash, Industrial rock, and Industrial metal but also includes rhythmic noise, IDM, Breakcore,Industrial techno/technoise and even Power electronics, although not to a heavy extent.
