[edit] NPOV and cities in the USA

As a resident and employee in El Segundo, I thought that this treatment of the city belongs at aboutus.org which is now led by the inventor of the wiki itself, Ward Cunningham of c2.com

The smoke stacks at Grand and Vista Del Mar must be THE tradmark image of El Segundo for any one living on that stretch of the coast from Playa del Mar south to Palo Verdes.

I have since moved to Gardena, CA a couple of miles east (inland). I do not know how to paint a pretty picture of Crenshaw Blvd between 105 and Man. Bch Blvd. in Gardena no matter how much I like El Camino College at the one end or the historic airport at the other. Well, the bus service is good if you can figure out which bus stop to stand at ... Will the bus east on Grand from El Segundo be cut by Metro as planned?

[edit] I Left My Wallet in El Segundo

  • I don't know enough about New York geography to edit this myself, but the Tribe song begins with them leaving Brooklyn, so I've always assumed it was a different El Segundo that the narrator lost his wallet in. Clarification anyone?
    • They actually sing about taking a long road trip to the west coast from New York to El Segundo and back, but when they get back to NYC, 'Tip' realizes that he left his wallet in El Segundo and has to go back. Snagglepuss 20:27, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Mike Gordon was mayor in 2001

I have edited (removed) the quote about "Cindy L. the mayor in 2001" I have no idea where that came from. The late Mike Gordon was the mayor of El Segundo from late 1998 until early 2004. TWR, El Segundo resident.

  • Mike Gordon's dead? Damn, I didn't know that :( I grew up in El Segundo so it comes as quite a shock. Fragrag 10:12, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Not encyclopedic

This article is around 75% waffle and what may be relevant in amongst it isn't cited. Needs an urgent clean up. Plutonium27 (talk) 01:52, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Bill Fisher

Bill Fisher's name in the right-hand info box links to another Bill Fisher. You can see the City Council members' photo here: http://elsegundo.org/depts/elected/default.asp and that it is clearly a different person. Someon shoudl remove that link. 147.21.16.3 (talk) 23:35, 20 May 2008 (UTC)bmy
