[edit] Hello there!
Hello there! Just a line to say you have my full support with regards to Bernard Manning and the issue of British nationality.
It seems the opposed user in question has breached what is known as the three revert rule - supplanting English nationality upon the article at least four times. I'll report him on a further occation, but wanted to say thanks!
Nice work on Lincs by the way, if you need anything, please gimme a shout! Jhamez84 19:10, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Briton
Hi, thanks for your message. Edit summaries really are unfortunately not the best places to discuss. However, despite how it obviously seems to you, I have no disagreement whatsoever over Britain being a nation. The word Briton refers to a native or inhabitant of (the nation) Great Britain. In other words the individual. It might be split hairs, but to say that Briton is a nation is not factually correct. A Briton is a native of the British nation or of the nation of Great Britain are (in my opinion) correct usage. That was why I reverted it, not that I disagree about the concept of Great Britain being a nation. And especially so because the poll is full of POV and does nothing to add to your contribution. Just my opinion of course but in all honesty I won't be visiting any libraries or spending too much time on one word! Good luck with your contributions and have fun! ♦Tangerines BFC ♦·Talk 23:28, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] British nationalism
While I'm here..... The article on British nationalism seems to me to be loaded with POV and just seems on a very cursory view of it to strongly imply that anyone who advocates British nationalism is far right wing. Right at the bottom of the page is a list of British Far Right groups as if to equate British nationalism solely with extreme right wing views. For instance by including the Neo-Nazi para-military Combat18 and the Neo-Nazi group League of St.George. As you clearly have an interest also in this topic I was just wondering what your thoughts were on the article? Scottish nationalism, Irish nationalism, Basque nationalism and so on, never seem to have this tag attached. What are your thoughts? No worries if you disagree just interested to know what someone else thinks about the article? ♦Tangerines BFC ♦·Talk 23:35, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] County maps
Hello there! Thanks for the contact, and sorry for the delay.
In short, yes I can work on the county maps for these places, but it may take me some time. I'm trying to complete maps for the metropolitan counties first (I've got Merseyside and a correction to the West Midlands map to make. Then, I may be able to create Lincs and Liecestershire maps for you (seeing as you asked!).
Great work by the way, give me a shout if you need a hand (I've just changed my ID name so please don't be confused!). Jza 15:52, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
- We now have Lincolnshire and Leicestershire maps. I'd appreciate your help in rolling these out for the infoboxes. Enjoy in the meantime. Jza84 18:02, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
