Egypt was the first Arabian country to establish bilateral relations with Vietnam.^[1] Vietnam first opened its commercial representative office in Egypt in 1958.^[1] However, the two countries did not establish official diplomatic relations until September 1, 1963, with the opening of the Embassy of Vietnam in Cairo.^[1] Egypt's Embassy in Hanoi was opened the next year.^[1]
