[edit] Yanacocha
Hello "Egoli",
Your question: "the photo of the "renaturalised area, Aug 2005", is that really up at Yanacocha? ". Yes, it is. I took it myself up there on Aug. 6, 2005 with my son's photo. You may load down the photo in size 2,048 × 1,536 pixels, and you can very well see the slopes in the background where they still are working. What I do NOT know is how the renaturalized area looked before. The water is collected here because besides the problem with NaCN they have in rainy days a problem with a lot of earth coming down with the water because the soil is loose everywhere. So the rainwater can be cleaned in this water basin.
I have another picture with pinetrees and meadows in the Yanacocha area. If you are interested, please send mail: Euyasik [at} gmx [dot} net
