Talk:Edward Sutton, 2nd Baron Dudley
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Sir Edward (sometimes Edmund) SUTTON, Lord Dudley who died in about 1485 is often called the 2nd Baron Dudley, only because his father was the first in the family to adopt the name Dudley. The Baronial Suttons descend from John Sutton (b 1286) whom initially inhereted the title by the right of his wife Margaret de Somery.
Thus the terms Baron and lord are sometimes misplaced.
Sir Edward may thus also be refered to as the sixth Baron Dudley (b: 1459 d: 31 Jan. 1531/3).
