Edward P Hardin was a chemical engineer who worked at Mobil Oil; he later served as the company's vice-president of US Manufacturing.

Born in St. Louis, Mo., Edward left his family and traveled to Texas to enroll at Texas A&M University. He graduated in the class of '45. Before graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Europe during World War II. For his valiant services, he was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Silver Star.
After his tour of duty, he returned to Texas A&M University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. He soon began a very successful career with Mobil Oil at the refinery in Beaumont. He worked there for over 40 years, and retired in 1987.
An Aggie to the core, he enjoyed attending A&M football games, collecting stamps and coins, attending the opera and visiting New York City.
