Edward Francis Leopold Brech was a British business and management consultant and an author of management theory and practice books. He was a manager in the construction industry for many years, and eventually earned his doctorate at the age of 85 through Britain's Open University, where he also was a Visiting Research Fellow. Among his best-known works are The Making of Scientific Management, co-authored with Lyndall F. Urwick in 1940, and The Evolution of Modern Management, a comprehensive five-volume history.
