- Yes. Well where does one start. Commenting is almost as hard as drawing. I did look at the first diagram- and it had its good points as well as its inaccuracy. I liked the colour and the 3D was impressive. I was considering whether the globe should have been render to make it appear solid using a 90% transparent layer- I couldn't decide. As I think there should be some consistency between all the diagrams- ( φ etc and colouring for horizon, celestial NS line) I was thinking of future implication ( my brain started to fry at this point ).
- Todays diagram is not as pretty- but is very clear. 2D is easier to draw. I think that the dial plate and gnomon should be emphasised in some way (colour/ thickness)but that could spoil it! - and names standardised.
- Inkscape is very powerful- I am just touching its capabilities- See Chatham Dockyard#Defence of the dockyard for some diagrams. The really good news though is that it is easy to edit mistakes and make similar copies- but is a steep learning curve.
