VelocityEX (talk ยท contribs) I've been a Wikipedian for about 8 months, yet I still feel as 'noobish' as I was when I first registered. I'm willing to improve my skills and I hope this review will change that!!

Reviews review by delldot: Hey VelocityEX, looks like you're doing a great job.

  • From your talk page, and random samplings of messages you've left on others' talk pages, I can see that you're very nice to other users; the page is full of people thanking you for this or that. This is great, it's in my opinion one of the most important qualities in a wikipedian. I like your strategy for dealing with conflict, too ;) However, as it looks like you've noticed (from your talk page), some editors are sensitive about curse words so it may be better to avoid them in order to keep from giving offense. I noticed that you respectfully honored that user's request. You strike me as a very nice person :)
  • It's not surprising that you still feel like a newbie, you've only made a little over 200 edits, so you've probably not had enough experience to get that familiar with the project (unless you've done some hardcore lurking). This is not a big deal though, you're bound to get more familiar with stuff the more you edit. It looks like you've been picking up the pace lately, which is great.
  • If you want to get more familiar with the project, I'd suggest reading the relevant policies (linked to on the pages) and participating in project related chores such as WP:XFD, WP:HD, WP:VP, and WP:RFC if you've got a strong stomach.
  • It looks like you're involved in the Dragon Ball wikiproject. This is good, it's a good way to network with other users and take advantage of their experience. You can also ask at the help desk if you need answers about editing. Or you can ask me, I'd be glad to help.
  • Edit summary usage could improve somewhat. You might want to go into your preferences and change it so that it prompts you if you go to save without an edit summary. Edit summaries help other users when your edits show up on their watch pages or whatnot.
  • It's hard to tell with the lack of edit summaries, but it looks like you do a good amount of article grunt work, cleanup and whatnot. I didn't happen accross any major content addition, but I could easily have missed it.
  • I'd hold off on an RFA and stuff like that for a while until you have at least a couple thousand edits. But other than that, it looks like you're an awesome editor and I hope to see you around in the future! delldot | talk 04:32, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I'm particularly pleased with the revamps I did on Dragonball Z: The Legacy of Goku II and Dragon Ball (artifact). Unfortunately, I have not created an article yet, but I'm pretty happy that I've done a good amount in such a small time!
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
I haven't had much issues with that yet. While I have engaged in some debates regarding edits, most of the time I have adhered to the strategy of not giving a fuck =).
