[edit] Soxred93

Soxred93 (talk · contribs) I have had one other editor review, where I got some good feedback. I'd like to know what I could do here, and how I'm currently doing. Soxred93 | talk bot 20:51, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Review by Malinaccier (talk · contribs)
  • I'll divide my review into areas where you need more work or I see any problems:
XFD. Looking through you last 500 contributions, I don't see a single comment on an XFD. I would suggest (especially with a potential upcoming RFA in a few months) commenting on two or three XFDs per day.
Doing... - WP:AFD/T watchlisted.
Article contributions. You have an extremely small amount of edits that go toward building up articles. The only way you can remedy this is by looking at articles that interest you and pressing the "edit this page" button at the top. :)
Doing... - Joined the Wikipedia Spotlight.
Automated edits. Your edits are mainly automated. Quality over quantity.
See above.
Helping out. You have a high number of edits to the help desk, but in you last 500 contributions you only edited the help desk once, and I saw an apology for not helping User:Mellie as much as you'd hoped to. I value editors who follow through with commitments and go out of their ways to help others. Just keep to your promises.
Doing... I have joined WP:MEDCAB, and you can see my planks/work at User:Soxred93/Mediation.
Sorry if this review seems rather caustic, but I only went over the bad parts! :) Overall, you're doing a great job. Keep up the good work, Malinaccier (talk) 02:23, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

Comments

  • Without doing an in depth review of your edits, from your last RFA, my suggestion would be that you need at least 50 CSDs that all result in deletion, and need major participation at a noticeboard like RSN/COIN/WEQ. Also, adopting new users is a good way to show lack of BITE. Happy editing MBisanz talk 06:17, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I'm especially proud of my SoxBots. Currently, a clone of the well known Chris G Bot 3 is in trial. I'm proud of my contributions to the Vermont WikiProject, and to Robert Cormier. I am not a great article writer, but my technology skills are excellent. I wrote a tool for WP:ACC, but due to the complicatedness of it, it needed a rewrite (which I was too busy at the time to do). I love to help out at the Help desk and WP:OP.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
Quote from one of my RfAs: "Conflicts over editing? No. Other users caused me stress? Yes." Still applies. However, I need not go into much detail, as they were minor. There was one point where I was mad at User:Kmweber, for saying that wanting to be an admin soon was evidence of power hunger. After taking offense at the fact that he said 14 year olds can't be admins, I took a break for the rest of the night. In my anger, I decided taking out my feelings anywhere else would be bad. I handled that well, and that's the way it should continue to be.
  • Smart, level-headed, sure acts more like an adult than I do (I'm 21). Try promoting something to GA, I'm sure it will add brownie points. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 21:27, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
